Accounting Project Manager – Odoo ERP Implementation
About the Role
We are rolling out the Odoo ERP suite across our international operations and need a project manager with deep, hands-on accounting expertise to guide the journey from discovery through go-live. You do not need prior Odoo experience—the functional depth of your accounting background is what matters most. You’ll bridge the gap between our finance team, external Odoo consultants, and technical developers, ensuring every configuration, migration, and process redesign aligns with Brazilian tax and reporting rules and global IFRS standards.
This is a remote position for professionals legally authorized to work in Brazil and comfortable collaborating in English with colleagues across EMEA and the Americas.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the project plan for the Odoo implementation—scope, timeline, budget, risk register, change management, and stakeholder updates.
- Translate accounting requirements (GAAP, IFRS, multi-currency, consolidation, tax regimes) into clear functional specs for the Odoo team.
- Lead data migration: chart of accounts, open items, historical balances, fiscal books, and fixed-asset records.
- Conduct workshops and training for finance, operations, and leadership—always in clear, professional English.
- Track KPIs (budget variance, burn-down, reconciliation accuracy, post-go-live incident rate) and report weekly to steering committee.
- Champion best practices in internal controls, month-end close, cost accounting, and tax compliance throughout the system design.
Must Have
- Fluent English—able to write clear specs and lead meetings; native-level Portuguese.
- Structured thinking, proactive risk management, diplomatic stakeholder handling, and a knack for turning accounting jargon into plain English.
- Highly creative and autonomous
Nice to have
- Exposure to Odoo, SAP, Oracle, Totvs, or another major ERP
- Familiarity with BI/reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau) for finance dashboards.
- Strong analytical skills
